The museum’s Sabre served 439 ‘Tiger’ Squadron at various RCAF bases in Europe. After its retirement in 1967, it was mounted as a gate guard for the Air Maintenance and Development Unit at CFB Trenton. It is currently painted in the colours of the ‘Golden Hawks,’ an aerobatic team that flew Sabres from 1959-1964.
