About the Collection

The National Air Force Museum of Canada has an extensive and diverse collection related to Canada’s military aviation heritage. The collection has been classified into the following areas:

The artefact database currently has 20,000 catalogue entries of individual artefacts.

The Archives

The museum’s archival section contains photographs, letters, personal documentation, logbooks and other documentary material pertaining to individuals who served in Canada’s Air Force. The Museum accepts enquiries about the contents of our archive section, but please be advised that we do not hold Personnel Records in our archives. For these types of records, please contact Archives Canada in Ottawa.

Research Enquiries

If you are doing research regarding a specific air force topic, you may contact our assistant curator via email. Photocopies may also be provided upon request for a fee. Please email research for more information.
