Rick Hillier visits museum to speak at Industry Appreciation Luncheon
The Quinte Economic Development Commission hosted its bi-annual luncheon at the museum on February 19, to say thank you to the industrial businesses in our community that create employment and economic prosperity for the region. General (retired) Rick Hillier, former chief of Canada’s Defence staff, was the guest speaker at the event.
“We are thrilled to be able to present former Chief of Canada’s Defence Staff General Rick Hillier who will be speaking on ‘Leadership and overcoming barriers to change and transformation,’” said Chris King, Chief Executive Officer of the Quinte Economic Development Commission.

Over 300 business and community leaders were in attendance to hear the retired General speak. Hillier engaged the audience as he shared personal stories and experiences while serving in the Canadian Forces at home and overseas.
While his tone was humourous and lighthearted, the proud Newfoundlander clearly conveyed his message on leadership and instilled a feeling of national pride in those who attended.
