Reference Library

The National Air Force Museum of Canada’s Reference Library contains over 6000 volumes of reference books, engineering orders and technical manuals pertaining to air force and aviation topics. There is also an extensive periodical collection relating to aviation topics.

libraryBook Donations

The museum does accept book and periodical donations; however, we require a list of the books prior to accepting donations. This helps us eliminate duplications of our holdings. In such cases where titles are considered unsuitable or if it duplicates what is already held in the library, the donor is given the option to donate them to the museum’s gift shop, where all profits go back to the museum. Upon request, income tax receipts may be issued for book donations when the combined value of books is over $100. Tax receipts are not issued for magazines and videos. See the Intention to Donate form for more detailed information regarding how books are valued.

TEMPORARY LIBRARY CLOSURE

The library is currently closed to the public and will reopen when construction in the new section of the museum is complete. The museum is still accepting book donations and will accommodate researchers who require access to the library, by appointment. The museum regrets any inconveniences caused by this closure.
