Minister of National Defense Visits the NAFMC

Friday January 25, 2013 – Trenton, ON  Minister of National Defense, the Honourable Peter Mckay, stopped for a short visit at the Museum to view the site after officially announcing the 1.54 million dollar infrastructure project currently underway at the NAFMC.

Phase II of the Museum expansion project was awarded to Mirtren Contractors Limited of Scarborough. The final construction phase of the new expansion includes stairwells, mezzanine railings, finished ceilings and flooring, and completion of the mechanical and electrical systems. It also includes the finishing of several offices, collection spaces and the education/conference facilities.

“Construction is on schedule and moving along smoothly”, says NAFMC Public Relations Manager Barb Neri. “We invite everyone to come visit our improved and enhanced facility when it opens in the late spring.”
