Sentry Dogs: Securing Canada’s Nuclear Air Strike Force
The RCAF’s Sentry Dog Program (1963-1972) was established as part of Canada’s commitment to NATO. Air Force Police used K-9s to help enforce strict nuclear weapons security measures at 3 Wing in Zweibrücken and 4 Wing in Baden-Soellingen.
Discover the unique story of RCAF Sentry Dogs, from their duties, routines, and the unique partnerships they formed with their handlers. Developed with the support of the Canadian Military Police Association, this exhibit features a life-size diorama of Sentry Dog Olaf and his handler LAC John Anderson, and mural painted by Maj Sean Hemus, RCAF.
