Ad Astra Day 2022
For the first time in 2 years, celebrate Ad Astra Day with us! On Saturday September 24, 2022, our annual Ad Astra Ceremony will take place to celebrate and honour those who have joined our Ad Astra Program over the past year.
10:30AM – 1:30PM: Aircraft tours in the Airpark
2:00PM – 3:00PM: Ad Astra Ceremony in the Airpark
4:00PM – 6:00PM: Presentation and book signing with Keith C. Ogilvie
Admission on this day is by donation.
*Aircraft tours will end promptly at 1:30PM for the Ad Astra Ceremony and are first come, first served.
Ad Astra Ceremony 2022
The 2022 Ad Astra Ceremony commemorates all the Canadians who served in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2014. Canada joined Operation Enduring Freedom in October 2001, contributing land, air, and sea forces to combat, security, development, support, and training operations in Afghanistan.
Learn about Joint Task Force Afghanistan Air Wing in our lastest permanent exhibit, reflect on the lasting effects the conflict had on CAF members in The Wounded, a travelling exhibit developed by the Canadian War Museum in partnership with Legion Magazine (Photography and stories by Stephen J. Thorne), and remember all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice at our Camp Mirage Monument.
